Matt Jackson, Solicitor for Nyst Legal. 

Matt, a young Kalkadoon man originally from the Mt Isa region, was the recipient of the Nyst Legal Indigenous Corporate Scholarship in 2012, and worked with the firm as a law clerk throughout the final two years of his undergraduate legal studies at Bond University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws/International Relations (Business) in 2014, and accepted an appointment as a judge’s associate in the District Court of Queensland in 2015, before returning to Nyst Legal in late 2015. He is currently completing his Master of Laws Degree at the Queensland University of Technology, focussing his studies on racial discrimination in the sentencing of indigenous offenders. Matt is also a volunteer lawyer at the Griffith University Innocence Project and has recently guest lectured at Bond University in Criminal Law and Procedure.
