Cherie Orevich, Solicitor for Nyst Legal. 

After graduating with Honours in law and psychology at Bond University in 1997, Cherie practiced as a criminal and civil litigation solicitor for 10 years, attaining the position of Senior Associate with Minter Ellison Gold Coast.   In that role, Cherie was engaged in high level litigation in all Queensland superior courts. Additionally, she has practised extensively in the Family Court and the High Court of Australia, has appeared regularly in the superior courts of New South Wales, and has conducted major criminal proceedings in the High Court of Hong Kong.

In addition to her legal training and experience, Cherie is an accomplished filmmaker, project manager, events co-ordinator and marketing consultant. She directed the marketing campaign for Chris Nyst’s best-selling crime fiction novels, “Cop This!” and “Gone”, played a pivotal role in the production and distribution of Chris’s 2008 feature film “Crooked Business”, and managed the profiling of Nyst Gallery, a pro bono art gallery exhibiting the work of emerging Queensland artists.

Cherie also lectures and tutors at Bond University in Evidence, Expert Witnesses and Criminology.
